General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital has been implementing several initiatives to improve both patient access and the patient experience. Most importantly, the hospital has been able to recruit and retain excellent Primary Care Managers and can now care for more patients.
Because of these successful efforts, General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital has officially lifted enrollment restrictions and is now welcoming all TRICARE-eligible patients, to include TRICARE For Life, within A 100 mile radius of General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital. (NOTE: The radius is based on zip code and the decision of TRIWEST.) Eligible beneficiaries can enroll in TRICARE Prime in these easy steps:
The first step is to verify eligibility. Only TRICARE eligible beneficiaries can enroll in TRICARE Prime, and eligibility is registered in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). Some updates can be made on Army Knowledge Online (www.ako.army.mil). All other updates can be made at the ID Card Facility located in Room 2101, Building 470, upon presentation of supporting documentation.
Once eligibility is up-to-date, there are two easy ways to change where you receive your healthcare. One option is to visit Fort Leonard Wood’s TRICARE Service Center in Room 2222, Building 470, from 0700-1630, Monday through Friday. The other option for eligible beneficiaries is to enroll via the internet at http://www.triwest.com/en/beneficiary/enrollmentbenefits/. From this site, one can confirm eligibility, enroll in TRICARE Prime, pay enrollment fees if applicable, and register for a TRIWEST.com account.
Once registered in TRICARE Prime, select GLWACH as your place of care (active duty family members have the option of enrolling to the Ozark Family Centered Medical Home), and select your Primary Care Manager either by visiting the TRICARE Service Center or the TRIWEST website.
Retirees must pay the TRICARE Prime enrollment fees ($230 annual individual enrollment/$460 annual family enrollment) before TRICARE Prime is activated. Non active duty enrollees who live further than a 30 minute drive from the hospital must also sign a drive time waiver and are welcome to come to General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital for the very best in medical care.
